In First Grade: Thinking About Presence
A three-part project with Chapman's 1st grade classroom exploring being present and the self in relation to others.
Part 1: A re-enactment of Marina Abramovic's The Artist is Present in pairs.
Part 2: Interviewing each other focusing on being present and getting to know one another.
Part 3: Drawing a portrait of the other person including something that was learned about the other person.
Part 4: Introducing the other person on video.
The Soft and Silent 'E'
Documentation of 15 people throughout the course of my day pronouncing the state name "Oregon" - an exploration of similarity/difference, community, and mumbleing.
Three Words for Japan
A collaboration with artist Juliet Moran, the Three Words Project was created in connection with the Flight of Friendship Japan 2011. The mission of Flight of Friendship Japan is to give hope and encouragement tot he people of Tohoku following the Great Earthquake and Tsunami, March 11, 2011.
The project was created in effort to convey a simple and home-grown message expressing the messages of Oregonians wishing to send hope and empathy to the survivors of the earthquake and tsunami.
